There are items that you use but could do without and then there are the items that you realize that make your life easier and become those staple items you can’t live without. I love cooking efficiently meaning preparing and serving flavorful meals without having to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.
Time is the top reason I hear from people for not being a good steward of their body through nutrition. Healthy eating doesn’t have to be a chore. Your labor of love in the kitchen can be both delicious and efficient.
I am about to bless your entire cooking life and shift your kitchen experience to redeeming your time. So here we go with my top 3 must-have kitchen staple items!
#1: Vitamix Food Processor

This is a special one that was pivotal when I started my healthy nutrition journey years ago and has continued to be of essential use by everyone in my home including both Skyla (15) and Cedric (11). Shout out to my dear friend, who knows who she is, that helped me in the selection process. Hugs and kisses.
From making perfectly blended smoothies, healthy shots, soups, purees, dressings, to nut butters, the possibilities are endless. If you haven’t seen the post, Homemade Nut Butters yet … check it out! Click HERE.
I’ve even used it to make some of our skin care products. 😁 It is an investment worth making! I’ve had mine for about 5 years now and the ROI (return on investment) has been great! We have the Nutribullet Rx but this one is still my fave!
Now there are several models to choose from. I’ve highlighted a few below. Click the links for the one that best suits your needs.
#2: Wok

Coming in at #2, the Wok works wonders when sautéing and cooking in large volume. It is good for many things … a few of my favorites are stir-fry, sautéing vegetables, and tofu. The real winner here is the amount you are able to do at one time because of the depth of the pan.

#3: Instant Pot

Don’t let the number rating fool you. The best was saved for last. It is an ABSOLUTE must-have. This will bless your entire cooking life. This is a game-changer when it comes to preparing foods and has been a favorite in my kitchen.
So you like preparing flavorful whole foods, huh? This baby here takes most of the grunt work out of it. Efficiency at its finest in the kitchen. So much so that even my 11-year old son uses it on his night to cook.
There are so many ways that it can be used but I will highlight a few that are common in my home and probably in yours, too!
DRY BEANS: Cook time can range between 20-40 minutes depending on the beans. No soaking overnight or for 2 hours prior to cooking. Simply add dry beans with cooking broth (I use vegetable broth 😉) and seasoning. Voila! Beans ready to eat.
SWEET POTATOES / BAKED POTATOES: Cook time range between 20-40 minutes. No wrapping in aluminum foil and 2+ oven time. Simply place sweet potatoes or baked potatoes on trivet (it comes with one) and fill the bottom with 2 cups of water.
Rice, stew, eggs, vegetables, etc. can all be cooked in this appliance.
Don’t just take my word for it … try it for yourself. There are different model types. I use the 7-in-1 but there are a few others with a few more bells and whistles. Click the links below to see which one best fit your needs and get yours!
Now back to your regularly scheduled activities. Let’s get to preparing and serving flavorful family meals efficiently.
