I’m going to go straight in … straight shooting, no chasing! This one ain’t for the faint of heart. You came to work today!
I am going to share this in yo’ face, I’m saying this because I love you relational space years ago between God and I cause this is a part of how our relationship rolls. I need tough love sometimes.
The point of which God does a thing in you, He will do it through you. So here I am qualified to tell you that …
Yes … you are the strong one. The one that everyone goes to in your circle, in your family. You are the backbone and you were designed to be just that … someone’s life is dependent on it.
BUT there is something to address here.
You have been conditioned in a society that says that the meat and potatoes is where the substance is ONLY. This is what’s important. This is the important portion of the meal. It becomes easy to only focus on those things that you deem as big or important enough. It is easy to overlook the other vital elements of a meal. Everything else will have to work itself out. These other essential elements are likened to the “small details.”
Yes … you are a woman of substance.
Yes … you are a man of substance.
Yes … you trust God primarily.
Yes … you think big and have big faith but do you with everything including the small things?
I am here to tell you that the small details do in fact matter!
I have learned and observed that sometimes it is not the big setbacks, obstacles, circumstances that sets one back. It is the small things that knock folks out of the game.
While others may struggle with the big things, for you it’s the small things.
Think about financial fraud. Embezzlement can happen in large sums of money being taken at one time but it mostly happens in small undetected amounts being taken over an extended period of time.
It is the responsibility of the owner of said finances to run routine audits of their financial state of affairs to ensure that things are copacetic even when they have hired someone to manage it for them.
You are the person entrusted to govern and steward you. These details will not just work themselves out. They will hinder the call, the assignment that you are called to and it has to be confronted.
When Moses finally accepted the call of God to be the lifeline in which God freed the children of Israel from Pharoah’s control, he was met in the inn by the angel of the Lord to kill him. The details had to be confronted. His wife stepped in quickly to deal with that which hadn’t been dealt with … the circumcision of their son. God had to confront it. It was going to hinder the call and He is a protector of the work of which He moves through. Read Exodus 4 … the whole chapter.
I am here to challenge you to take inventory. Run an audit!
What are those things that have crept in undetected that are showing up in the way you talk, showing up in how you love God, yourself and others, showing up in how you do life and business. Those things that are meant to steal, kill and to destroy.
Pay attention to your thoughts. Pay attention to your words for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Pay attention to things that you do. Note where it traces back to.
If God the Creator of all, whom I like to call the Master Strategist, created the universe with all of its intricacies (details) then how much more are the intricate (detailed) parts of you of great concern to him?
This is where God says “I care about those small things and I desire for you to cast them on me!”
He cares for you
You are valuable to God. He cares about the small details that affect YOU. Those things that you struggle with. Those things that are of anxious thought to you. The small details that seem to knock you down at times.
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” 1 Peter 5:6-7 KJV
I find these two scriptures quite direct in what to do. I want you to particularly look closer at three words … cast, care and careth. One is a directive to you. One is of the nature of God.
So let’s break it down …
Cast – epirrhiptō, ep-ir-hrip’ -to (Strong G1977) means to:
- to throw upon
Care – merimna, mer’ -im-nah (Strong G3308) means to:
- to draw in different directions
- to distract
- signifies that which causes this “a care especially an anxious care”
Careth – melo (Strong G3199) means to:
- to be of interest to, i.e. to concern
- something is an object of care, especially the care of forethought and interest
Another translation reads:
“If you bow low in God’s awesome presence, he will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands. Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 {The Passion Translation}
LayTonia, what are you saying? Funny you should ask 😁
In other words, your humility is trust in God and His ability and willingness to handle ALL parts of you. It is displayed through you pouring out on Him ALL of your frustrations, ALL of your worries, ALL of your stress, ALL of your fears, the small details that you have become complacent with and that you think you have under control.
Your real strength comes from this place. Your real power comes from this place!
This is The Place of The Pour™ where he pours out on you His love, grace, mercy, wisdom, power! Rest in it then get up and walk in it!
You and your life including the small details matter to God. He has need of you. This next level requires it. Someone is waiting on you.
So …
Will you trust God with the small details of you and your life?
Will you trust Him with everything?
Will you give Him full control?
I let it be known in the beginning that you came to work today. Consider it a workout and just like a physical workout it may have been uncomfortable or painful but so needed and worth it!
But you are not done quite yet … let’s finish out this workout!
